About the Artwork
“This is one of a series of collage portraits created in response to my experience of sitting with residents in nursing facilities.”
Ritamarie Mosola, a physician practicing geriatric and hospice medicine, completed a post-baccalaureate program at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Hospital Artist in Residence program of The Creative Center, a nonprofit organization in Manhattan. She was one of the original cohort of artists at Art Connection in the Capital Region, a nonprofit that brings art to individuals who would otherwise have no access to it. “Through my work as artist and physician, I’ve helped individuals find well-being through the interface of arts and health care.”
