About the Artwork
Afraid of needles =)
Kathy Burke lives and works in Frederick, MD. She is a recruiter by day and an artist always. She started painting when very young, working with oils in her grandmother’s basement. Today, her work often depicts her thoughts or feelings at the time of its rendering–sometimes dark, at other times whimsical. “I still remember the smell of the oil paint and my grandmother’s patient tone encouraging me to take my time.”

1 thought on “Afraid of Needles”
I love this! It is like a caricature, with the dark background and the too bright hair and big lips. And of course the needle is huge, and full of radioactive looking fluids! Lively emotion captured!
