About the Artwork
“This photograph captures Manhattan at 6 AM, just before the city has awakened. Walking home from the emergency department after a ten-hour overnight shift, I noticed the spacious tranquility of the normally bustling First Avenue. In addition to patient care, it’s unique moments like this that I treasure in my medical experiences.”
Jasmine Chang a recent premedical graduate from Cornell University with a degree in computational biology. When not doing biological research, she spends her free time creating art and poetry. “I am interested in exploring public-health issues from various perspectives, including health care, research and the humanities.”
