About the Artwork
“I encountered the manzanita tree when hiking outside of Sedona and found the twisting trunk compelling. The old, dead-appearing bark was intertwined with new, vibrant bark, both supporting bright leaves that contrasted with the surrounding red rocks. It serves as an apt metaphor for self-renewal while taking time away from work to hike. Sourcing, creating and layering the components of this collage allowed me to reconnect with this experience while trying to evoke the calm beauty of being within the canyons.”

This is so textural & evocative of the red rocks of Sedona – love this Becky!
