About the Artwork
An expression of Winter 2020-21: twelve-hour training, laptop, lists and every human reaction imaginable, as if death itself were ringing.
“In the face of a long predicted global pandemic, I was desperate to be useful. And so, over the winter of 2020-21, I wrangled a job with the Department of Health (DOH), where I witnessed the full scope of an inefficient and ill-prepared healthcare system, with stark health inequities and political, cultural and social disorganization that exist throughout the US–a situation that no amount of heroism, compassion or pragmatism could assuage.”
