About the Artwork
“When looking into the most expensive places to stay around the world, a US intensive-care unit is often featured alongside the luxury resorts. In 2018, my family and I experienced the reality of these numbers firsthand when my previously healthy brother was unexpectedly admitted for a week with severe diabetic ketoacidosis. With the ongoing pandemic, an increasing number of individuals are burdened by exorbitant healthcare costs, a grave situation we need to be sensitive to.”

An illustration that really made me stop and think and so artfully done. I think for profit insurance companies have made healthcare unaffordable for so many vulnerable folks.
