About the Artwork
“In the long struggle to find the magic mix of treatments that will help manage my myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and long COVID symptoms enough that I would be able to return to work and life, I have ended up with a lot of prescription medication bottles. It has cheered my spirit to use them to grow plants from seed.”
M.S. Marquart (she/her) is a disabled, mixed-race Asian American poet. Her poetry explores the impacts of chronic illness and seeks to shed light on the hidden daily life of people living with long COVID and ME/CFS. More at https://msmarquart.com and https://www.instagram.com/m_s_marquart

I lovevthe juxtaposition of growing the flowers in allopathic medicine container, especially because Callendula is a healing remedy. I have fibromyalgia and Hoshimotos Thyroiditis so I understand the chronic fatigue. I use both allopathic and homeopathic remedies to make life a bit easier. Best wishes.
