About the Artwork
“I had to have a CT scan and was exceedingly nervous about it. While waiting for the scan to be run, I counted mantras on my mala beads. While awaiting the results, I reflected with a friend about the challenges of being a doctor/patient. Upon arriving home, the patient wrist band, my stethoscope and the prayer beads fit together to describe my day.”
Deborah Pierce is a family physician who employs photo-therapy to treat her jaundiced perspective; she finds time with a camera clears the head and helps her express emotions.

Deborah, thank you for welcoming all your beautiful parts, for creating a photo altar in commemoration of your experience. May patient, doctor, and prayer support one another, always in communication for balance, for peace.
