About the Artwork
“This piece was created to show the beauty of the stomach and to remind us that we should listen to our bodies and remember to eat and care for ourselves. Nutrition is important and highly connected to the mind and soul. Intuitive eating inspired me to listen to my body and eat the way that feels right.”
Florence J. Yip is Chinese. She was born in Colorado but spent twelve years of her life growing up in Bangkok, Thailand. “From a young age, I’ve always been in awe of art and how a blank piece of paper can be turned into something so beautiful. Art has always been a way for me to view the world from a different perspective and a tool to express myself. I love mixed media, and my most recent endeavors have merged my love for art and my passion for medicine.”
