The Voyage to Heal

About the Artwork

“As the boat glides over the incessant tides, basking in the warm hues of the setting sun, so too does medicine make steady progress towards healing mankind. Just as the horizon beckons with the promise of sunrise, so too does medicine hold the promise of reducing barriers to healthcare and advancing therapeutics. Medicine has never about the destination; it has always been about the journey. It is about the sacrifices, work-life-balance, early mornings, late nights and, most importantly, people.”

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. – William Ernest Henley

  1. Looks like that boat is maybe going to have to negotiate a narrow passage between rocks before it gets marooned on the sand as the tide goes out. I love the stories that might be evoked by this photo!
