About the Artwork
“Nearly thiry years after the war, you don’t have to look hard to find its most obvious scars in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Just down the street from the Instagram-famous Old Bridge of #Mostar, this graffiti is scrawled across the shell of a crumbling sniper tower, left as a purposeful reminder of the successive sieges inflicted on this ancient city.
Lunan Ji is a urologist at South Miami Hospital in Florida. He loves taking photographs, whether traveling abroad or in his own neighborhood. “In Bosnia and Herzegovina, photography allowed me to find the scars of the country’s wars and start to understand its complex and ongoing history.”
