“Once the dangers of COVID-19 became apparent, a local manufacturer of blown-polypropylene products retooled its plant to make supplies for masks, challenging Milwaukee-area residents to assemble 3.5 million as part of #MaskUpMKE. This is what 700 masks looks like. The masks were distributed to vulnerable populations throughout the region.“
Bruce Campbell is a head and neck cancer surgeon at the Medical College of Wisconsin and associate director of the MCW Medical Humanities Program. He holds a Columbia University certification of professional achievement in narrative medicine.
