About the Artwork
- “This photo was taken recently at a Black Lives Matter peaceful protest. I challenge myself to serve alongside the heroes in our country who continue to dismantle racial injustices. As a medical student and future physician, I hope to follow in the path of powerful leaders and heroes. I hope to advocate for my future patients, challenge inequities and work alongside my peers to dismantle racial disparities and injustices within our communities. I hope that this photo will serve to remind me to continue to advocate for what is just and ethically sound.”
- Syeda Rabab Zaidi is a rising fourth-year medical student at Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Chicago.
