About the Artwork
This artwork underscores themes of hope and healing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Depicted is an astrocyte, a nervous system cell that provides support and protection for nerve cells. It plays a role in nourishment, regeneration and healing after injury.
Sanjana Sundara Raj Sreenath is a first-year medical student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center–El Paso. She received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
