As a retired nurse, this brought back memories. Most times there wasn’t time for much more than a snack on the fly to keep from crashing.

As a caregiver, I know the feeling of providing little moments of pleasure, a laugh or a special treat, in the face of what can be grueling work.

When my mother was in Hospice, workers there brought around afternoon snacks for family gathered there. They gave respite at a hard time. In this wonderful haiku, the caregiver is getting something sweet in the way most convenient.
Ah, dear Pris, thanks for your comment. Yes we look for sweetness or we try and give sweetness even when things seem grim.
