About the Artwork
“This encaustic painting was created in memory of the pediatric families whose lives touched mine in a profound way. Art does that…heals the soul.”
“After twenty years of working as a hospital and hospice clinical chaplain I decided to pursue two areas of creativity that I love: writing and art. I learned the ancient method of painting with wax and pigment called encaustic, meaning to heat or burn. Working in pediatric hospice has informed many of my poems and artworks.”
