As a long time reader of Pulse printed stories, I really appreciate the audio along with the Q&A session. Adds a stronger emotional dimension to already compelling stories. This piece in particular resonated with me because I was often told as a nurse not to share personal stories with patients. Occasionally, I did, and found doing so connected me better with my patient and their families. I admire this author for her bravery, stepping up to describe such a difficult situation. She showed empathy for her patient and ultimately compassion for herself. in healthcare, we don’t always get that positive outcome we want. Very interesting account. Thank you for writing and then reading.
