About the Artwork
“I found paint had been sprayed on my new home to make it more sale-able, but had covered many of the leaves. But the flowers and leaves grew up anyway. Clearly this is a message of encouragement for humans afflicted with illness and injury: Life often finds more of a way through than we can imagine, both to survive and to grow, function and flourish.”
Henry Schneiderman is a semi-retired internist, geriatrician, pathologist and palliative-care physician who resumed taking art classes after a gap of fifty-six years. Two of his other visual works have appeared in Pulse, and so has a poem.
