About the Artwork
“I found paint had been sprayed on my new home to make it more sale-able, but had covered many of the leaves. But the flowers and leaves grew up anyway. Clearly this is a message of encouragement for humans afflicted with illness and injury: Life often finds more of a way through than we can imagine, both to survive and to grow, function and flourish.”
Henry Schneiderman is a semi-retired internist, geriatrician, pathologist and palliative-care physician who resumed taking art classes after a gap of fifty-six years. Two of his other visual works have appeared in Pulse, and so has a poem.

Thank you so much, Lou; you are way too kind. I still think back to meeting you and speaking to your housestaff in Glen Cove, three decades ago, and our contacts since.
And thank you Pris, you are one of the guardians of Pulse, always offering thoughtful and supportive comments to authors and visual arts people.
Henry, what a visually stunning way to underscore the powerful statement of your photograph’s title. I am still learning from you…
Lou
Perfect title for this beautiful photograph.
