The phone rings. “Can I see a doctor?”
“We’re fully booked three months out, I’m sorry.”
“There’s nothing?”
Anger builds.
“I’m sorry.”
I put her on hold. I search the schedule.
“I’m sorry.”
“What’s your name?”
“Why?”
“I just want to know the name of the last person I talked to in case I die.”
