About the Artwork
“This photo was taken as I arrived at the residents’ parking area of a busy children’s hospital, about to start an early shift. My attention was grabbed by these strewn remnants of nutrition, caffeine and knowledge, and I paused to think about the things that we trainees keep in our vehicles. I wondered how it was possible to be so familiar with, yet have so many lingering questions about, this mysterious colleague of mine.”
Elizabeth Null is a second-year pediatrics resident in Omaha, Nebraska. She is passionate about medical education, genetics, writing her way through residency and carving out time to be present at the intersection of art and medicine.
